Frequently Asked Questions: Parties

 

How do I reserve my child’s party?

Visit us or call us at (323) 256-2467 to make a non-refundable, non- transferrable $150 deposit. Once a deposit is a received, your party date and time will be confirmed.

 

When should I book a private party?

Parties should be reserved as soon as possible. Once you know what date and time you would like to have your party, please reserve to ensure that you get your preference of party dates and times. We can reserve parties as early as 12 months in advance. Feel free to contact us at (323) 256-2467 to check availability.

 

Can I reserve the facility for something other than a birthday party?

Sure! Any kind of celebration is a good reason to party at The Awesome Playground. Folks have celebrated baptisms, first communions, kindergarten graduations, college graduations, field trips, fundraisers, and even a 50th birthday party has been held at The Awesome Playground.

 

When should I arrive to set up for my party?

Please arrive 10 minutes prior to the start of your party time. This will allow us to clean the dining and playground area prior to your arrival. Two party assistants will help you unload and get everything set up and ready to party!

 

Can I bring some party items before the party?

Sure can! You are welcome to bring any non-perishable items during the week before your party. Piñata, paper products, sealed drinks, decorations and goodie bags are good items to bring ahead of time.

 

How many people can your facility accomodate?

At about 80 people, our facility begins to get really cozy. If you would like to have lots of guests, be our guest. The Awesome Playground fits 40 - 50 people nicely. If you are anticipating a large party, please mention it when reserving your party.

 

What can I expect during my party?

Upon arrival, our party assistants will help you unload and set up your food buffet and cake table. Upon completion, one party assistant will open up the outside area with obstacle course and slide. If you bring a piñata, your guests will be asked to come inside 45 minutes prior to the end of your party. Our party assistants will take care of the breaking of the piñata so that it is done in a safe manner. After the children have finished collecting their candy, everyone will be asked to come toward the front dining area to sing happy birthday to your child. Children are welcome to continue playing in the indoor section of the playground until just a few minutes before the end of the party. We will make an announcement to let guests know that it is time for shoes and goodie bags. At this time, please say goodbye to your guest and our staff will take care of all the clean up.

 

If it rains, can we use the outside 60 foot obstacle course and slide?

Due to safety reasons, we can not run the electricity during the rain. If it is raining, the party assistant that normally supervises the use of the obstacle course and slide will come inside and can coordinate party games or provide face painting and tattoos at no additional charge.

 

How many tables do you have for seating?

We have two 6’ foot long tables for dining and one 6’ foot table that is typically used as the cake table but it also can be used as a dining table. Adults can also use our 16’ foot long standing bar for additional dining. Our food counter space is 15’ foot long. We supply a drink bin and utensil caddy.

 

Can I bring extra tables and chairs for seating?

Sorry, our space can not accomodate extra tables and chairs for seating. We have dedicated the majority of our space for the playground. If you would like to accomodate more adults, we have the ability to arrange outside dining at an additional fee. Any party rental items, such as tables, chairs, canopies, heaters, etc. would have be arranged thru The Awesome Playground.

 

Can I bring my own food?

Yes, you are welcome to cater with any caterer or bring homemade food if you wish. You are not required to use our recommended caterers.

 

Can I bring alcohol?

Yes, moderate amounts of alcohol are ok with us.

I ordered custom balloons, can you inflate them for me?

We would be happy to inflate your balloons and have them ready to go before your party starts. Please bring balloons to be inflated during the week of your party. Latex balloons are $1 each to inflate with balloon string, 18” mylar balloons are $2 each and jumbo mylar balloons are $8 each.

 

Am I supposed to tip the party assistants?

You are not required to tip the party assistants. Party assistants strive to give the best party service and work to make each party an awesome success. If you feel our assistants have done a good job, tips are much appreciated by our staff.

 

Can I bring my own music?

Sure can! We can play music wirelessly from your ipod or iphone. Otherwise, we can use a commercial free Pandora station of your choice.
